16-year-old girl alleges she was sexually assaulted and imprisoned
Windsor police have charged a 23-year-old man after a 16-year-old girl says he sexually assaulted and imprisoned her.
On Monday April 2, the girl was walking alone when the man offered her a warm place to stay on Bruce Avenue.
She said after that, she was under his control.
“At times the pair exited the residence together, but the female reported she continued to fear for her safety,” according to a police news release.
Three days later, police say she was finally able to reach out for help.
A spokesperson said the message is to be careful when dealing with people you don’t know.
“If you’re invited to a stranger’s residence, that’s something we obviously don’t recommend and people should be cautious when dealing with strangers,” said Sgt. Steve Betteridge.
The man is charged with forcible confinement and sexual assault. The girl was treated in hospital and released.
