Halloween Spooktacular

A local organization is welcoming Halloween with the spirit of giving.
Transition to Betterness, a finalist for the 2017 Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce Pillars of our Community Award, is hosting their second annual Halloween Spooktacular.
Office manager at Transition to Betterness Linda Santos said it is a free event put together by the organization’s youth ambassadors.
Santos said the event will begin with a 5 kilometre costume dog walk for which dogs have to be registered at $25 per dog.
“Last year we had a couple hundred dogs come out,” said Santos.
The event then continues to include a barbeque, two inflatables for children to play in and snacks for both humans and their furry friends. There will also be music and a stage set up for performances.
All the proceeds of the event go towards charitable causes.
“This money is going towards the Ronald McDonald House in Windsor because we have two rooms in there that we sponsor, and to our pediatric programs,” said Santos.
This is a free event being held at Malden Park on Oct. 29 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
