30 Days Dining In Downtown Windsor
By David Zoungrana
The 30 Days Dining In Downtown Windsor Photo Contest, held by The Downtown Mosaic, will be running throughout the entire month of November.
The photo contest is open to residents of Canada who are 14 years of age or older. Participants are asked to submit photos of their meals at the dining locations of their choice. The pictures taken are then to be uploaded on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, accompanied by the hashtag #30DaysDiningInDowntown.
Yaw Asiedu, from of The Downtown Mosaic is looking forward to the contest.
“It is open to anyone who comes downtown and patronizes any of the downtown restaurants we have around here. We leave it to the public to discover them and take photos which they’ll enter the contest with and have a chance of winning a prize,” said Asiedu.
“We will be going through all our social media websites to check those who have tagged 30 Days Dining Downtown and once we’ve gathered a list of all those people then the winner will be chosen at random.”
Sarah Palmer, at the Windsor Star Café, said the photo contest has had some influence on the business climate in Windsor.
“We’ve been seeing a slight increase in customers ever since the contest began. It has definitely been busier,” said Palmer.
“The downtown businesses are our major sponsors, and have contributed various gift cards for the winners and so forth,” said Palmer.
Palmer agrees sponsoring is good for the business. “Any publicity is good publicity and when someone visits or sees something once, it kind of stays in their head. I definitely love when people take the initiative to come out to local businesses, and I think that’ll definitely benefit us not only in the short term, but the long term.”
The 30 Days Dining In Downtown Windsor contest ends on November 30th.
