The roof was on fire for a local pizza place after a generator, generated the blaze.

Early morning on Oct 6 a fire broke out on the roof of a local Pizza Pizza. The store which is located on Tecumseh Road East and Howard. Fire fighters were first called to the scene at 1 a.m. in the morning to battle the fire. The crew was able to control the fire to prevent any further spread.

Fire fighters and a fire marshal were on scene investigating for the fire’s origin. The fire originated on the roof’s back-up generator. The back-up generator was used to keep the restaurants freezer running and to help control them.

Since the fire occurred over night while the restaurant was closed there were no injuries caused by the fire. The only damage occurred to the exterior and interior of the store. The investigation is still ongoing to determine if the fire was accidental or arson.

The fire caused an estimated total of $100,000 in damage.
