When I first walked into the Leaf Grill, I was met by delicious aromas and a comforting aura.

I sat down and was greeted promptly by a waitress with bionic hearing. If I even whispered I was cold, she was there within seconds to turn down the fans.

The menu had a lot to offer and took into account different appetites. Along with a four-page menu, they made note of which dishes were vegetarian, spicy or gluten-free, something that I don’t often see in restaurants. Serving salads and calling them vegetarian options is not a big deal. But, how about a vegetarian burger, fettuccini alfredo, vegetable noodle bowl or panini? As for gluten-free options, they had everything from seasoned fish to pastas. There was even a section called “comfort food,” which contained a variety of hot sandwiches, including roast beef, hamburger and turkey. Just thinking about those options makes me want to curl up beside a fire, get in my pajamas, grab a blanket and melt.

It’s the kind of place that suits all sorts of occasions. If you want to go on a date, you can go there and enjoy a glass of wine and some pasta or steak. If you want to go out with the family, your little ones have some “junior options,” or if you want to go out with your friends, there are beers, burgers, sandwiches and wings galore.

I tried the daily special, beer-battered, breaded fish and it was incredible. My companion tried the chicken special and that, on the other hand, wasn’t the best. Even so, there were many great aspects to this restaurant.

The décor didn’t make me feel like I had to get dressed up, but it did allow me that option if I really wanted. I won’t say the setting was unique, but it was chic.

Two meals came to $56 with the tip and that was with wine and a beer. The prices weren’t fantastic, but they were reasonable considering what I got.

I give this place a nine out of 10, only because I am not quite ready to give out a 10. Regardless, I plan to go to the Leaf quite a few times in the future.
