MediaPlex Networking and Awards Night

Journalists of the MediaPlex recognized for accomplishments

Family, friends and guests from the media recognized the young journalists of the MediaPlex at Place Concorde on April 16.

Awards were given to the journalists for a variety of categories including print, broadcasting, design and layout.

The journalists of the year were Ashley Ann Mentley, Justin Prince and Shaun Garrity.

A special inspirational journalist of the year award was presented to media convergence student Garrity as well.

All students in attendance got the chance to meet and talk to individuals from different media sources in the area including CBC, CTV, the Windsor Star, AM800 CKLW, Lakeshore News, the LaSalle Post, Noxtrom Media, The Lance, The Hub and AM580 CKWW.

The keynote speaker of the night was Charlie O’Brien from CKWW. O’Brien told his story and encouraged students on their future.

The MediaPlex would like to congratulate all the journalists on their accomplishments through the year and thank all the individuals from the media who took time to come out and meet the students.
