Windsor Youth Centre relocates

The Windsor Youth Centre has a new home located just a couple buildings away.
The youth homeless shelter opened its doors to its new facility at 1247 Wyandotte St. E. on Oct. 17 which provides a more spacious alternative to the previous location. The centre features a quiet room for small children, a modern kitchen and more.
Tamara Kowalska is the executive director for the organization. She said the organization had a smooth transition into the new building and that its staff and volunteers are pleased with it.
“It’s allowing us to fulfill our mission a little bit more easily and to facilitate all of our programming more effectively.” she said.
The centre currently serves around 17,000 meals a year and about 50 young people each night.
