Drug bust in South Windsor

A local man is facing drug charges after police searched a residence in South Windsor.

The search warrant was executed on Jan. 31 by the Windsor Police Drugs and Guns Unit. The 30-year-old man was arrested after officers discovered cash, drugs and drug paraphernalia.

According to a press release, the DIGS Unit was granted judicial permission to search the residence after investigating a suspected drug trafficker in the 3800 block of Acorn Court. During the search, officers say they seized over $11,000 Cdn, almost US$2,000, 15 grams of suspected cocaine, 59 grams of suspected marijuana, a cell phone and digital scale.

The man was arrested without incident around 9 p.m. in the 800 block of Jos Janisse Avenue. He has been charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of marijuana.
