For the first time ever, the Downtown Windsor Farmers’ Market is extending its season.

“This was a very busy year. Not only did we increase our (number of) vendors but we increased attendance,” said general manager Steve Green.

“I can tell you there is probably over a thousand people that come here every Saturday [between] 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.”

The Farmers’ Market is a non-profit, volunteer-based venue where local food producers and entrepreneurs promote and sell their product.

Vendor Dane Fader of GreenerBins Composting Company said the busy market was filled with potential customers.

“I am trying to target sort of an eco-friendly community (so) this is a really good place to be,” said Fader.

“If you have a product you want to sell or you have a service you want to tell a community about, especially in this area, then (the) Downtown Windsor Farmers’ Market is a really good choice for that.”

The season typically runs from the end of May to the beginning of October. This year, the season will continue every Saturday during the month of October from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
