Lancers, Express team up for home openers
The Windsor Lancers and Windsor Express are teaming up this weekend for a day of basketball fun for the whole family at the WFCU Centre.
Doors open at 2 p.m. on Saturday before the OUA season opener between the Lancers and the Western Mustangs at 3 p.m.
“We have always looked for ways to create unique experiences for our student-athletes, and we are grateful for this opportunity provided by the Windsor Express,” said head coach of the Windsor Lancers Chris Oliver.
The excitement continues with a ‘Skills and Drills’ competition with the Lancers at 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. in WFCU Centre gym. The competition is open to all youth in attendance.
The day wraps up with the Windsor Express taking on the Sudbury Five at 7 p.m. in their Canadian NBL opener.
“Our fans deserve nothing but the best basketball and that’s what we’re going to give them,” said Dartis Willis, president and CEO of the Express.
Tickets are available at golancers.ca. Lancer fans can also purchase half-price tickets for the express game at the WFCU box office.
