Festive celebration for male cancer survivors

Prostate cancer survivors in Windsor and Essex County gather for Christmas dinner every year to celebrate their victory against the disease — the third leading cause of death for men in Canada.

“The purpose of this event is to get our memories together. We are all prostate cancer survivors and we like to take a little time to celebrate that fact and enjoy each other accompanied with anybody who has been recently diagnosed with prostate cancer,” said Jim Fair, a member of the Windsor Essex Prostate Cancer Support Group.

The group shares stories and memories and offers experience and hope to those still battling prostate cancer.
