Freezing rain warning from Environment Canada
Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent.
Precipitation will begin as snow starts to fall Monday night. That snow will change briefly to ice pellets, with two to four cm accumulation, before changing once again, but this time to freezing rain overnight. Freezing rain amounts could be significant , in the five to 15 mm range.
The icy conditions will affect travel during the morning commute and as such, travelers are advised to use caution due to the slippery surfaces.
“The heaviest freezing rain period will likely occur from 4 a.m. until 10 a.m. Tuesday morning,”says CTV Windsor meteorologist, Gary Archibald.
