Pride flags will fly at GECDSB elementary schools

All but one trustee of the Greater Essex County District School Board voted to expand Pride month flag flying.

The 9-1 vote on Feb. 19 was in favor of having flags flown at city and county elementary schools during Pride month in June.

This is an expansion of the decision made in 2016 which saw the Pride flag flying over the district’s head office and high schools.

The flags will be provided by Windsor-Essex PrideFest, who currently supplies the flags for the high schools, and the flags will be flown for one week at minimum during June.
