City of Windsor Cultural Summit
By Travis Conant
The City of Windsor held its annual Cultural Summit at Willistead Manor in February. The summit started with a formal presentation at 3:30 p.m (repeated again at 5:30 p.m) and was followed by a break so those in attendance could visit various booths displaying upcoming projects.
CIty of Windsor manager of Cultural Affairs, Cathy Masterson was the presenter during the event and discussed some of the future plans and goals they wish to see happen and accomplish in Windsor and how they will get there.
Some of the upcoming projects highlighted included: A.C.T., a performing arts program that came to announce their upcoming Wizard of Oz inspired show, the Ford City Neighbourhood Renewal group who are planning on cleaning up some of the alleyways in Ford City and turning them into pieces of art and local artists who wanted to share their work.
This summit takes place every two years, with the last one happening in 2016. For more information you can visit the City of Windsor’s website.
