WINDSOR – Detroit mortgage company Quicken Loans continues its expansion into Canada, with work still being done on the company’s Chatham Street West location.

The project has its roots in a deal made between mayor Drew Dilkins and current Quicken Loans CEO Jay Farner, as reported in a press release by the company.  “We learned a lot more about Ontario’s deep technology talent pool over the past couple of years as we explored pitching the international border of Detroit/Windsor to various companies,” said Farner.

Farner has also said that Quicken Loans will remain committed to recruiting more technology talent to the area, saying that there are tremendous opportunities to use that talent.

Dilkens said of the deal that “We are excited that Quicken Loans and its family of companies have made the decision to open an office in downtown Windsor. The relationship we developed recently with them as we jointly pursued various technology companies to our international border cities helped us share the strong value proposition of Windsor.”

The location is expected to open sometime this year, though some workers are already present.
