The Inter-Faith Group of Windsor and Essex County held its annual interfaith symposium, “The Search for Meaning in Today’s World: Perspectives from Spiritualities of the World” on Sun. Oct. 20, 2019 at the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County. Serena Cheechoo read her poem about reclamation and re-connection with generationally denied spirituality and culture of the First Nations. Priyanka Dhawale teased the “Ten Life States” as practiced by Nicheren Buddhism in everyday life. Avery Fuerth focused on how Catholic Evangelism helps her deal with peer pressure. Wesam Hussain spoke about the Islamic purpose of life; a complete submission to God. Gurkirat Singh expounded on the Sikh tenet to “Treat All Humanity as One.”

The group was started eleven years ago to foster understanding among local faith communities. It meets every third Wednesday of the month. For  more information call 519-980-9853 or email [email protected]
