Website for rosacea patients launches new campaign
Rosacea patients are having a burden lifted off their shoulders with a new campaign that aims to close the gap between those living with the disease and their doctors.
Face up to Rosacea provides a one-stop shop website for patients, enabling them to create a personalized appointment guide, share their stories, and encourage discussion for the search of long-term treatment.
“Every patient is unique and going through a different rosacea journey,” said Dr. Jerry Tan, dermatologist in Windsor. “By sharing your story, with the help of your personalized appointment guide, your family physician can understand how rosacea affects your daily life and can consider referring you to a dermatologist to help you get the results you want.”
The campaign is being headed by Galderama Canada, a prescription drug and aesthetic solutions company. Their aim is to enable those diagnosed with rosacea to personalize their treatment and remove the barrier between themselves and their physicians created by a reluctance to discuss the true burden of the disease, according to the press release issued by Galderama Canada.
Galderama’s global research showed that 86 per cent of those diagnosed with rosacea significantly alter their daily lives in order to avoid triggering flare-ups.
