CHL Movember notes

The Windsor Spitfires were among 60 member teams of the Canadian Hockey League invited to participate in a league-wide fundraiser for men’s health awareness. The CHL also invited it’s officials and office workers to take part. The money raised was tracked on ca.movember.com.

The Spitfires ranked twentieth among 50 registered teams with $1,115 raised. Windsor was the top-earning Ontario Hockey League team, just ahead of the Owen Sound Attack and London Knights. Defenceman John Bowen led the way for the Spits with $740, which put him just outside the top 50 of the 789 individual participants. Bowen raised more money than any other OHL player.

In all, $170,074 was raised across the CHL.

The top five individuals in terms of money raised are:

CHL Director of Events and Marketing Cole Butterworth – $5,907

Medicine Hat Tigers forward Miles Koules – $5,336

PEI Rockets forward Patrick McGrath – $4,525

Western Hockey League Referee Clayton Hall – $4,327

Medicine Hat Tigers captain Hunter Shinkaruk – $3,016

Calgary Hitmen – $13,721

CHL National/Regional League Offices – $12,048
