Windsor Const. Bianca Sims has earned a nomination for 2020 Police Services Hero of the Year award.

As an officer from the community services branch, Sims has organized police week events for the past few years. She educates the locals, schools, and newcomers about community issues.

The 5th Annual Police Association of Ontario Awards allows people to nominate and recognize their local police services officials for the work they do apart from keeping the community safe. A nomination can be related to a specific event, where a police officer or a civilian police services employee goes beyond their duty, or it can be in recognition for an officer’s ongoing support and involvement within their community.

The nominations period is open from Feb. 3 – March 13, 2020, and the winners will be announced during the Police Association of Ontario’s Annual General Meeting in May.

Nominations can be submitted online at policehero.cae-mailed, or sent via social media on the PAO Facebook or Twitter pages.
