Free online resources for college students
The stereotypical student is a combination of stressed and broke. As a result of this, I have discovered five free online resources to alleviate this stress and save your wallet.
Photopea
https://www.photopea.com/
This browser software is a mimic of the popular image manipulation software, Adobe Photoshop. It combines the same features as Photoshop, with the convenience of not having to pay hundreds for the software and being widely available on all browsers with an internet connection. Moreover, it accepts all file types, including Photoshop files from Adobes suite of applications.
Library Genesis
https://libgen.li/
Library Genesis is a database of free textbooks, literature, magazines, and many more. I have used this plenty in the past to find textbooks for classes as they run a pretty penny at most bookstores. If ever a class asks you to buy a textbook, always check this website beforehand to save yourself some money.
Coursera
https://www.coursera.org/
The Coursera website offers hundreds of free courses across a plethora of topics and subjects. It is also backed by; Stanford, IBM, Penn State, and Duke University. All courses are professional and high-quality and offer a certificate at the end. This is a great website to add additional skills to your resume.
Libre Office
https://www.libreoffice.org/
This website, similar to the first, directly mimics the Microsoft Office Suite. It offers all of the same features with the convenience of being in your browser and free. If you are ever in a pinch and need to use Microsoft Word this is a great alternative.
Z Library
https://b-ok.cc/popular.php
Similar to Library Genesis, Z Library is also a database of free reading resources. The difference, however, is this website is used to find reading books, not school textbooks. The range is from non-fiction, fiction, horror, mystery, and plenty more. My personal favourite, that is available on the website, is SunTzu The Art Of War!
I hope you enjoy this semi-comprehensive gallery free online resources for college students. Use these to save some money this winter, and use that money for gifts!
Have a wonderful holiday season!
