It’s that time again – the semester is winding down with only four weeks left. Final projects are being assigned and everyone is losing their minds. But fear not! Because I am here to give you some tips on how to survive and handle the next month and make sure your mental health stays somewhat intact.
Tip 1: Take it one assignment at a time.
Remember you are just one person and can only do so much at once. Focus on one assignment at a time and don’t try to do them all at once or else you’ll just become more overwhelmed.
Tip 2: It’s okay to take breaks.
I know it may seem impossible right now because there is so much going on but remember that you and your brain need to rest and that’s okay to take a break to binge a few episodes of your favourite TV show or even take a nap. Just remember that you aren’t meant to be working contently.
Tip 3: Make sure you are sleeping and staying well rested!
I know it may seem like pulling an all nighter to get an assignment done or to study is a good idea but it’s not! You need to rest and allow your body the time it needs to recuperate from a long day’s/night’s work.
Tip 4: Remember that coffee/tea are not meal replacements.
Please remember to eat a proper meal and not just drink something loaded with caffeine. Give your body all the nourishment and fuel it needs!
Tip 5: It’s okay to reward yourself and be proud of what you’ve accomplished.
Treat yourself to that Starbucks drink or buy that thing you’ve been wanting! You deserve it for all the hard work you’ve been doing. Also remember to pat yourself on the back for getting your work done. You did it! Celebrate that.
Remember these tips next time you are feeling stressed about school and just overall make sure you are taking care of yourself both physically and mentally over the next few weeks. I believe in you and I know you can get it all done. Just remember to stay healthy while doing it!
