Today’s Weather Forecast

Today is a beautiful spring day but the forecast is calling for showers this week.

While we are enjoying today, one could or should remember that April 14 is a rather famous, or maybe infamous, day that includes many historical events.

On this day in 1912, en route from Southampton, England to New York the Titanic hits an iceberg and, as we all know, sank the next morning and around 1,500 people died.

April 14, 1935, is known as Black Sunday, when a severe dust storm ripped through the US Midwest and led to the region being labelled the Dust Bowl.

Further back in time, 1865 to be exact, US President Lincoln was assassinated on this day by John Wilkes Boothe.
