Chatham-Kent minor facing second degree murder charges

One person is dead and a Chatham-Kent minor is facing second degree murder charges after a weekend incident.

According to Chatham-Kent police, it happened around 10:45 p.m. Friday night on Richmond Street in Chatham.

When police arrived on scene they found one youth with serious injuries.

He was transported to hospital but died of his injuries.

Police aren’t providing any details about the nature of the incident or releasing any names due to the ages of those involved.

The accused is in custody and police say there’s no threat to public safety.
