Safe injection site coming to Wyandotte Street
Donna Tuckwell Oct. 24, 2002
Work has started on the new safe consumption and treatment site on Wyandotte Street in the city of Windsor.
Safe injection sites are intended to decrease the risk of fatal overdoses in the community by providing users with a supervised space for drug use.
Sites like this are already part of harm reduction strategies in other municipalities across Ontario, in London, Ottawa, and Toronto.
The site is expected to be fully operational within the next few months.
