High winds cause power outages and minor damage

By Donna Tuckwell

High winds on Saturday left parts of Amherstburg without power.

Downed powerlines on Concession Rd. 3 stopped traffic and hundreds of customers lost power for hours as a result.

Gusting winds are believed to have topped 90 kilometres per hour.

Minor damage and debris around the town was quickly cleaned up and power was restored by Essex Powerlines.
