‘Warm moist air’ responsible for sunny days this winter
Ever wonder why you are experiencing spring-like temperatures this winter season?
Meteorologist and CTV reporter Gary Archibald said it is due to southerly moist and warm air.
“One of the reasons why it’s been so warm is the overall pattern across North America has set up a situation where parts of eastern Canada, from the Great Lakes to east towards the Maritimes and Atlantic Canada, have been dealing with a persistent flow of southerly moist, warm air,” said Archibald.
According to Archibald, the southerly warm and moist air is the reason why the region experiences above seasonal averages like 11 and 14 degrees Celsius.
