A charity has been created to honor Matthew Perry’s dream of helping people with addictions after his death a week ago according to an announcement from his close ones.
Matthew Perry was a 54-year-old actor who dedicated his life to entertainment and helping others with addiction problems.
Perry was committed to helping others with addictions after fighting his own fight.

“I’ve probably spent $9 million or something trying to get sober,” he said in one interview at the New York Times in 2022.
The actor is well known for helping people that come to him in search for help against addiction.

That’s why after his unfortunate death, this foundation was created to honor him and his life goal of helping people who suffer to drug and alcohol addiction.
His unfortunate death might be a light in many lives who are seeking hope. Perry truly believed fighting alone against addiction might be too strong to defeat.

“Addiction is far too powerful for anyone to defeat alone,” Perry said on the Matthew Perry Foundation’s home page. “But together, one day at a time, we can beat it down.”

According to helpguide.com, there are multiple ways of fighting against addiction such as double checking on aspects like the way you deal with stress, who you allow in your life, what you do in your free time, how you think about yourself and the prescription and over-the-counter medications you take.

Not knowing how to deal with stress might be a fundamental cause of many issues, so it’s recommended to handle it with different fulfilling activities like exercise in order to reduce stress.

Make sure to surround yourself with people who make you feel good and help you go through these issues by being supportive instead of a cause.

Try to use your free time to focus on your goals, activities you deeply enjoy, passions and share with loved ones.

Be careful with the way you see and treat yourself, always with respect and compassion, treating you like someone who you love the most.

If you’re being medicated, make sure that the prescription provided to you works correctly, otherwise you can always communicate with your doctor about the effects of this medication on you so they can prescribe you again.

If you have any problems struggling with addiction, you can go to health Canada services on canada.ca to get in touch with all support services.
