Can you Remake a Love Story?

Can you remake a love story?

There are so many movie remakes, and sometimes they are not the best ones. Some of them are beautiful new interpretations of the story. Truly I am very glad that no one has decided to make a remake of “Gone with the Wind “and “Casablanca” it will be like a knife in my heart, but still there are great remakes that we can enjoy.

For the upcoming romantic holiday, I decided to talk about whether it is possible to make a remake of a love story?

Sabrina (1954) and Sabrina (1995)

Movie of 1954 with the marvelous Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart and William Holden.

The gorgeous costumes and real ambience of the fairytale was discovered in the black and white movie.

The remarkable story was renewed, not even remade with Harrison Ford, Greg Kinnear and Julia Ormond in 1995, and I think they made a nice choice of cast and made this story of Cinderella more modern.

Dirty dancing with Patrick Swayze and without.

Love story about a poor Patrick boy dancing instructor and a girl from sophisticated society, summer young love, and what will win love, money or morality standards?

The second movie 2017 was more just a commemoration of a legendary movie and made as a musical. I watched it and it was not as bad as I imagined. Did you know even a TV-Series 1988, exists for one season 11 episodes?

Beauty and the beast

My favorite remakes of this tale as old as time is the new one of (2017) with sweet Emma Watson and a French movie (2014) with Vincent Cassel. The oldest version is closer to the original fairy tale we know, but anyway both movies are very prepossessing and really bewitching.

Just go with it (2011) /Cactus Flower (1969)

Two different names but one incredible story.

I love the cast from both movies, and it is impossible to tell which movie goes with this flower better.

Of course, in the old version Goldy buys you with these huge eyes, and the love story is more detailed and profound. And Ingrid Bergman has her class and this beautiful transformation, that was implemented for Jennifer Aniston. What can I say I love watching movies where New York was shown in 1960s, and this vibe is so different. Also, in the Cactus Flower they have this famous soundtrack from Neil Dimond recorded by The Monkees and performed for the movie by Quincy Jones “I’m a Believer” that we can hear in Shrek but by a different band, but this is a topic for another time.

Have a great weekend everyone, I should say CINEsational!
