Holiday Every Day

March 22 is World Water Day! While watching the movie Water Land, you also can go to the riverside and give honor to the Detroit River and even help. It is not a bad idea to go walk around the benches and to pick up some trash around. The river gives incredibly strong energy to the people, and it deserves our respect.

March 23 Did you know there is Corn Dog Day too! I never tried it, so maybe today is the day. The first documented patent for a corn dog was in 1927. And it was invented by immigrants from Germany, who settled in Texas.

March 24 Chocolate Covered Raisin Day, I would call them raisins covered in chocolate. But who am I to change the name of one of the best snacks ever. The year 1927 was a year of patents and discoveries. On this day we celebrate the official birthday of raisins in chocolate. And thank you!

March 25 Holi! Have you ever participated in this magnificent celebration? I have never been a part of it. There are a few different stories behind the origin of this holiday. One of them is very romantic. The main purpose is to show that you can love your partner the way they are, it is an acceptance of their visual looks. This is what happened in Hindu mythology – Radha loved her man Krishna, even though he got blue skin as a curse. People throw balloons full of paint in the air and explode them. Everyone is jolly embracing this meaningful celebration.

March 26 Make your own holiday day! How cool is that when you can do it? This tradition began in the early 2000s, Jace Shoemaker-Galloway invented it. This day was created for holiday enthusiasts like her, just to bring more joy and some extra kindness to the world.

March 27 Spanish Paella Day! It’s a signature dish from Spain. The main ingredients are rice, saffron, and anything else you put into it will be fine. There are more than 200 variations of paella! It can be with chicken, beef, vegetarian, seafood etc. Like in Italy there is pizza with hundreds of ingredients, the with main ingredients are dough, tomato sauce and cheese, but here its rice and saffron instead. Que usted aproveche!

March 28 Wear a hat day! This day is also devoted to awareness of brain tumors, and this is why it’s called a hat day. Wearing a fun hat, you support everyone who had to suffer this unfortunate problem in their lives and help find a cure for brain tumors.
