After an incident in Windsor’s west end, Windsor Police have opened a suspicious person investigation.

A little after 3 p.m. on March 27, authorities were summoned to a home in the 1400 block of Partington Ave. Officers discovered during their investigation that an anonymous caller posing as a representative of a heating and air conditioning business had phoned the home’s senior resident the week before.

Inquiring about the resident’s age range, the caller scheduled a maintenance check-up for their furnace for March 23 at the residence.

On March 27, two suspects unexpectedly visited the apartment instead of the caller arriving at the scheduled time.

When the suspects got there, they went to the basement and demanded the furnace’s financial records. After growing suspicious, the resident called the heating and cooling company, which verified that no one had been sent to the house. After that, the suspects were requested to leave.

The occupant of the house did not report any theft or damage to anything.

The two suspects are described as 20-year-old black men with thin frames who are carrying dark duffel bags. A dark toque was worn by one suspect. A silver sedan was driven by the suspects.

Residents in nearby areas are urged by the investigators to examine their dashcam or security footage for any relevant evidence in this case.
