Four arrested for alleged underage prostitution
During an undercover operation the Windsor Police Service and Ontario Provincial Police arrested four individuals for allegedly seeking sex with underage girls.
In the past months, members of Windsor Police and Ontario Provincial Police intelligence team led joint Forces Strategy Anti-Human Trafficking Unit did an undercover operation in Windsor.
The officers planned to use a website to contact the suspects and created a fake scenario by offering money to an underage girl.
In all those conversations, the suspects allegedly agreed to a specific price with the undercover team, which was showing themselves as a 16-year-old and then agreed to meet at a location.
The following individuals have been charged related to sexual services from a person under 18 years of age:
-Wissam Charaf, 28, from Windsor
– Stephen Merner, 59, no address
– James Pernal, 46, from Essex
– Jianwen Yang, 61, From Windsor
“Protecting our children from exploitation is of paramount importance,” said Windsor Police Inspector David DeLuca.
