The 17-time Grammy winner, Kendrick Lamar, is set to headline Super Bowl 59 Halftime Show, His second appearance in five years.

Last time Lamar performed at the big game, he came out presenting just the song called “Alright” followed by performances by Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg. The Compton born rapper made several headlines in 2024 following the recent rap battle with famous Canadian artist, Drake.

The Caesars Superdome is the host stadium for the big game in February 2025. As a partner with the NFL on live performances. Roc Nation, an enterprise ran by Jay-Z, presumably had a broad list of artists to choose to perform. The reasoning for choosing Kendrick Lamar is because of his deep love for hip-hop, artistic vision and recent influence on the rap culture with diss tracks “Meet the Grahams” and “Not Like Us.”

Lil Wayne, New Orleans native, is devastated after hearing the news about the headlining act for the Super Bowl. While being a homegrown in NOLA, the glorified rapper is hurt and “let down” after being snubbed from this major event. The rapper addressed the situation without breaking and blames himself for not preparing for a letdown. Lil Wayne acknowledged his stunned fanbase and continues to appreciate the deep love and support.

The southern raised rapper can only daydream about performing alongside Kendrick Lamar in the Mardi Gras themed Super Bowl. Speculations have begun with who will be Kendrick’s special guest, Lamar has already hinted towards bringing out up and coming rapper Baby Keem.
