Windsorites are invited to a fundraiser in support of a local man injured during a snowboarding incident.

Coleapalooza is being held Mar. 3 at the Rockhead Pub at 4 p.m. to raise money for the family of Cole Kierdorf.

Kat Spargalo, a friend of Kierdorf, is organizing the fundraiser and said Kierdorf was injured while at a ski resort.

“Cole was snowboarding at Pine Knob ski resort in Clarkston, Mich. when his knee hit his face breaking the bones around his right eye, knocking him unconscious,” said Spargalo.

Kierdorf is currently in a comatose state at Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital in Windsor. Doctors are not sure when Kierdorf will recover from the coma but if he wakes up, they are estimating at least 18 months of recovery.

Tickets are $20, which comes with one raffle ticket and a pasta dinner.

Spargalo said the goal is to sell 300 tickets for the event and 100 have sold so far.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Kierdorf family to help with medical costs.
