Victorian Order of Nurses hosts successful fundraiser

Over 200 people gathered at the Overseas Motors Mercedes-Benz showroom in Windsor for the third annual Exposure 111 Art & Fashion Exhibition Sept. 26.

The event, sponsored by Rafih Automotive, had an art show, fashion show and silent auction featuring work from local artists and businesses. Proceeds from the event went to the Victorian Order of Nurses, a non-profit organization that provides home care, personal support and community services for clients in need.

VON public relations coordinator Emily Kiss organised the event. She said it was a great way to expose VON to the community.

“We are a charity as well as a non-profit organization and we would love for the community to help us support our program,” said Kiss.

The fashion show featured pieces from Chatty Collection, Bvogue, Elaine Chatwood, Clothing Bar, At Ease Men’s Apparel, Penny Jane Vintage and Ana Stulic.

Fred Francis, director of business development for the Rafih Auto Group, said Rafih has assisted in providing funds, resources and manpower with several charitable organizations in the past.

“The goal was to make sure everyone came out and had a good time,” said Francis. “Our Rafih Community Cares Program does a lot of charitable events. This would be considered a third-party charitable fundraiser where we essentially donate our facilities and assist with the cost of the event so the charity can fundraise and keep a lot of the proceeds for their programs in the community and telling by the audience and everyone’s feedback, this has been a success.”

The event raised $5,000 along with an additional $5,000 donation from Rafih.
