A trip down Swiftie Lane: The Eras Tour film review.
by Zachary Balogh
Fans got to live their wildest dreams and witness Taylor Swift’s concert film The Eras Tour the movie. This movie was shot on various nights on the Los Angeles date of The Eras Tour.
The Eras Tour movie took us through all her different eras. It was akin to riding the ride “it’s a small world” at Disney World journeying through the many different eras from her early country pop days with Fearless to her now pop days with albums such as Reputation, 1989, and Midnights. We even got to journey with her into the forest with albums Folklore and Evermore.
When it comes to the highlights of this tour it is truly the Reputation era, the set list for that specific era was slithering. One specific example is the transition between the songs Don’t Blame Me and Look What You Made Me Do this bombastic transition captured perfectly what Swift is able to do during many of her concerts. Another very prominent era was starting with the Lover era, Swift captured that era perfectly with the intro of Miss Americana and The Heartbreak Prince and Cruel summer, this was a good intro considering the line ‘It’s been a long time coming.’ The downside of this would have been the set list in general, the list contained several songs from each era, however certain songs were cut out for this movie.
One of the major pluses was the film making in general. Good on the film makers for capturing every single angle they could from twirling around Taylor to the drone footage at the beginning. The editors also deserve credit especially with the graphics to intro each era, especially with the snake graphic in Reputation.
Overall, this was a film worth seeing, especially with the little ones. This is enjoyable for all ages. I would highly recommend this to anyone, especially those who did not get to see the Eras Tour in real life. 4.5/5
