Back to school movies
One of my favorite genres of movies are now trending. Let’s talk about back-to-school movies.
My list of movies has several variates, not just comedy and romance, but something that can inspire and will make you think.
Let’s begin with the movie that this new generation might not even know.
Faculty
This film takes place in the end of the 90s, and it is a horror sci-fy movie. Everything is happening in the school with the students and their profs in a small American town, with some outer space invaders. But of course, in the middle of the movie appears a group of students who will try to resolve the mystery and save the world. Am I a spoiler? No! This movie is almost 30 years old, so don’t be angry with me, just watch it and enjoy!
Next one is a classic, and if you have never ever seen it, it is your loss and you need to change that immediately, because here we will talk about a movie with Robin Williams!
3,2,1 …
Dead Poet Society
The movie portrays the flow of a prestigious educational institution, and pressure is faced by both students and the incredible professor with his unusual ways of teaching. It is an inspiring movie. This movie can be for students, who need to adapt to being under the pressure they are facing from the parents, but also for parents who are thinking that they want give their kids the best in this world, but forget that kids are not lab rats ,and not made of clay and can figure out what do they want on their own. It also could be for those who want to become a professor. I love this movie for conquering the stigma around issues faced by students. Its independent spirit can connect many different minds and help people in their life choices.
Now let’s go to something more totally different from the previous movie, but not any less inspiring.
Van Wilder
One of my favorite quotes in life is from this movie, “You shouldn’t take life too seriously. You’ll never get out alive.” This helped me in many situations, and especially not to become a person behind the shades of the window who doesn’t try the taste of life. Just try to enjoy life, we never know how much is left of it. The movie centers around one “forever student,” who loves his university and never leaves it. He loves this style of life. Someone calls him cool and funky; others tell him he is just afraid of the real world, like a tadpole in his pole. What do you think about this movie and character at all? By the way I think his character was taken from Petya, the endless student from Anton Chekhov’s novel “The Cherry Garden.”
It would be a dull article if not to mention the first to my mind, a real portrait of a Barbie. But here you will not read about the movie Barbie, it is about a young woman who believes that you can become everything you want, even if the world sees you very weak and away from what you want to become.
Legally Blonde
This movie is more than inspiration, it is an instruction for those who are, in the eyes of others, far from achieving their dream goals, especially when it deals with the career path.
This movie is about a very fragile stature young lady, who has her dreams and desires, who believes in good and faith of truth and no matter what she wins her right to make a dream come true.
And for the end my great recommendation for those who are new into college life, is a tv series!
Community
This show helps us learn how to be comfortable with people who don’t look like you, by their appearance, tastes, interests, age or gender. It is about a group of students who eventually become best friends and more than just a study group. This show is about your own self, new resolutions, going outside your box and making friends, trying to build your community and be happy and learn a new life that is beyond your imagination and just have fun.
That’s all folks for today, and next week we will talk about my new list on Netflix, and what I want to watch and why. Have a great weekend!
