Beetlejuice sequel hits theaters

Beetlejuice is back in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and delivers the chaotic, off-the-wall sequel we’ve been dying for. 

 This follow-up hits all the right absurd notes, reviving the quirky charm of the original while adding a surprisingly emotional core. Fans of the original, grab your sandworms because this movie manages bring back the original cast.  

Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara slide back into their roles like they’ve never left the eerie town of Winter River Keaton’s Beetlejuice is still delightfully deranged, but this time, he’s got a little more depth beneath the dirt. 

The film takes its time setting up the story, but once it kicks into gear, it’s an all-out supernatural frenzy. Lydia’s journey, now as a talk-show host navigating grief and estrangement, draws you in, and then bam Beetlejuice crashes back into her life, sparking all kinds of delightful mayhem.  

Expect big laughs, chills, and some jaw-dropping twists that remind us why we loved this world in the first place. 

Jenna Ortega’s Astrid brings some serious emotional weight, grounding the mayhem in a heartfelt storyline. She’s a perfect fit next to Lydia, and it’s clear the ghost-whispering gene runs strong in this family.  

Meanwhile, Justin Theroux oozes slime as the guy you’ll love to hate, and Willem Dafoe’s Wolf Jackson? A pure scene-stealing delight, even if his role holds little relevance. Meanwhile, Beetlejuice’s usual antics never disappoint, but this time, there’s a personal angle that adds depth to his mischief. 

While a few plot points could have been explored more, Beetlejuice 2 is too much fun to nitpick. It’s an outrageous, spooky ride worthy of the original—a sequel we didn’t know we needed but are so glad we got.
