Bikers beat charity fundraising target
Hogs for Hospice surpassed their fundraising goals at this year’s “Back in the Saddle” event after a two-year hiatus because of COVID-19 restrictions.
Event organizations said they had hoped to raise $1 million but collected $1,006,132. It was the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Erie Shores Hospice in Leamington where thousands of motorcyclists participated during the three-day event from July 29 to July 31.
The event included a concert series at Seacliff Park, a non-denominational service, and a motorcycle rally around Point Pelee National Park.
Organizers are looking forward to next year’s event, which is set for the first weekend of August.
