Windsor has won the bid to host the Can-Am Police Fire Games in 2022.

“We’re thrilled to be setting another signature event for our city and region, this event will bring hundreds of adults and families to experience all that we have to offer,” said Mayor Drew Dilkens in a news release issued Tuesday morning.

The Can-Am Police Fire Games happens every two years in a different Canadian or American city. Firefighters and police officers from all over the two countries will be coming to Windsor for the games.

This event includes softball and swimming. SWAT competitions and the Toughest Firefighter Alive contest will put the competitors’ skills to test.

The 2018 and 2020 games are both being held in Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.

There are 191 days until the 2018 Can-Am Police-Fire Games.
