Cat killed in Elm Street fire

A Wednesday fire at a home on the 1100 block of Elm Street, near Wyandotte Street West caused $125,000 in damages.

The home’s residents were able to get out safely but one person is displaced due to the damage. One cat died in the blaze.

According to Windsor Fire and Rescue Services’ Twitter account, the fire started in the home’s kitchen and the cause has yet to be determined.

An investigation is underway.
