Connection between animals, humans explored at university conference

More than 120 people attended a recent University of Windsor conference focused on the connection between humans and animals.

The two-and-a-half day conference was staged by the Animals and Interpersonal Abuse Research Group, an organization run by faculty and graduate students at the university. It was supported by Hiatus House and the Windsor-Essex County Humane Society.

Topics on the agenda included the intersection of animals and domestic violence. The event also showcased recent advances in research, policy, and practice relating to human-animal connections.

The conference took place Oct. 11 to 13.
