Local children who may have gone without a Halloween costume can look forward to trick-or-treating in some hallo-gear being donated by the public.

The seventh annual Costumes for Kids campaign is being organized by students of Walkerville Collegiate Institute. They will be collecting new or gently used costumes at the high school, as well as at Halloween Alley on Walker Road. The public can drop off any costume donations from now until Oct. 26.

Annually, Costumes for Kids collects and gives away more than 300 Halloween costumes to local children.

Walkerville student parliament will host a children’s Halloween party to hand out the costumes on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sandwich Teen Action Group, located at 3735 King St. on the city’s west end.

The party and costumes are available for children from infant to age 13. The child must be present at the party and accompanied by a parent to choose their costume.
