LaSalle residents voiced concern at a meeting about the safety of their children, pets and livestock following coyote attacks in the area earlier this year.

Officials from the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife, LaSalle police and the Windsor-Essex County Humane Society were present at Thursday’s meeting.

Experts reminded residents that coyotes are attracted to food, water and shelter. Removing access to these should reduce the coyote population in urban areas.

After discussion with residents, officials will come up with a plan to go before council.
