‘Distressed’ Coffey to appear again in court July 31

Jason Glen Coffey, accused of murdering his mother Florence Coffey, appeared briefly in Ontario Provincial Court today.
Coffey, 40, was arrested Friday afternoon after police response to a call at 564 Oak that morning regarding a deceased person. He was charged with first-degree murder. Justice of the Peace Mike Hurst presided over today’s proceedings.
Coffey is being represented by Andrew Bradie, who said his client is “terribly distressed” over the incident.
Coffey is scheduled to next appear in court Tuesday, July 31.
