Eatery101 brings the taste of class home
Customers at Eatery101 are taking the taste of class home with them.
Eatery101 is a restaurant operated by St Clair College culinary students at the college’s main campus. However, due to pandemic safety measures the restaurant had to shift to offering take-home meal kits to continue operating.
Chef Maurice Boire said it has been harder to entice new customers to the restaurant, the number of repeat customers has increased.
“We have seen a reduction in clients,” said Boire. “We have seen a reduction in in new customers – repeat customers are something that we’re seeing a lot of.”
The kits offer fresh ingredients and recipe cards that make it easy for customers to learn new kitchen skills according to customer Trevor Pitcher.
“So, part of the uniqueness of the program is not only can I go home with really quality ingredients, but I can then sort of learn to cook,” said Pitcher.
Eatery 101 is located at 2000 Talbot Rd. inside St Clair College’s main campus.
