Employment Rate
The Windsor Economic Development Corporation is predicting more jobs for Windsor this year.
According to the employment numbers from Statistics Canada, more than 1,500 Windsorites gained employment between December 2015 and January 2016 and the unemployment rate dropped by 0.4 per cent.
At the same time, a new report the Conference board of Canada predicts more jobs in goods and services to be created in Windsor throughout 2016 and 17, especially in manufacturing, retail and construction.
The report also states no job losses have been recorded and 185 new jobs have been created between Integram Windsor Seating, Dakkota Integrated Systems, U-haul and Highbury Canco Corporation so far this year.
