Event celebrates Tech in Windsor

Windsor’s Tech Week just keeps getting bigger and better.

The annual event, which aims to inspire and educate the community about technology while highlighting local success stories, kicked off last week with a buzz at the J.P. Wiser’s brand centre.

“Tech Week helps educate the community about technology. It also helps showcase amazing tech companies and tech people that exist here,” said Yvonne Pilon of WETech Alliance. “The goal is to do this every year, and I think that every year it will get bigger and better. Last year we had just under ten events, this year, we are over fifteen events.’’

This year’s event was sponsored by the University of Windsor’s EPICentre. Three tech companies joined together earlier this year to promote the city as a great place for tech companies to invest.

At the end of the kickoff event, awards were handed out to several local tech champions.
