Event Honors Malcolm X’s Legacy in Social Justice Struggle
About 60 people gathered to honor an iconic civil rights leader.
The event, organized by Assumption University, St. Clair College & Sandwich first Baptist Church, aims to spread Malcolm X`s enduring impact on social justice and equality.
Throughout the event, attendees were engaging in discussions and in workshops that highlight Malcolm X’s teachings on justice, solidarity, and brotherhood.
A key moment of the event was delivered by Abdur-Rahman Muhammad, a prominent activist and scholar. In his speech, he underscored the importance of carrying forward Malcolm X’s legacy in the ongoing struggle for justice and brotherhood.
“If Malcolm X want to be remembered for anything, he wants to be remembered for being sincere, even when he was sincerely wrong,” said Muhammad.
According to Muhammad, Malcolm X was a courageous individual and he stood his ground without fear of anyone.
The life and legacy of Malcolm X reminded his unwavering commitment to truth, justice, and liberation.
