Rally the realm! Several students and other citizens of the realm competed to win at the Game of Thrones trivia night.

St. Clair College students from the Public Relations program took advantage of the popularity surrounding Game of Thrones by putting together a trivia night. The event was held at the Manchester Pub with the trivia portion hosted by Mack Flash Entertainment.

Amber Shearer, 23, is a second year Public Relations student who co-hosted the event.

“We recently did a Harry Potter trivia night and that was really successful. We kind of thought Game of Thrones would fit in with the pop culture phenomenon of people really liking to go out and celebrate these things,” said Shearer.

Students and other citizens of the realm participated in the event to test their knowledge on the show and contained 13 teams of around two to four players.

“My husband and I are giant fans of the show. We have our living room decorated [like] Game of Thrones; we actually said some of the words from Game of Thrones at our wedding,” said Amanda Dufault, 38, one of the winners from the event.

“It was a really fun night, the people running it did a really great job and we had a great time.”

According to an article from Business Insider based on data from Nielsen.com, Game of Thrones viewer ratings have increased after each season. The final season of Game of Thrones is rumoured to start in April of 2019 as well as a few spin-off series said to be in the works.

The Public Relations students are also hosting hosting a superhero trivia night at RockStar Music Hall on April 19.
