Fashion design students from St. Clair College presented their collection for one last time before they graduate. They hit the ramp with their collection ranging from vintage to cartoon.

The designers showcased their work April 26 at the Atelier Fashion Show 2018 at Student Life Centre.

Amina Zubaidi from second year won the top designer award that comes with a $1,000-scholarship. Her collection was inspired by femininity, elegance and innocence and the colour pink.

The students also had retail collections and portfolio presentations that acknowledged their months of work.

“I love it, because you are cutting your fabric, fitting it and then you see someone wearing that. It’s amazing,” said Aeron Stuckless, a second-year fashion design student. She added that she not only gets to use her sewing techniques but also her illustrator and drawing skills on the computer.

Many students are ready to take their skills further to become entrepreneurs in the fashion and textile industries maybe even following in the footsteps of Alfred Sung and Laura Siegel.
